More than a decade after hosting its last European Tour tournament, the Club welcomed some of the world’s best players for a week that brought together sport, territory, international exposure and thousands of fans around a shared passion.
A historic edition that once again confirmed El Prat’s status as one of Europe’s leading venues for professional golf.

Eleven Times at the Heart of European Golf
The Return of the DP World Tour
The 2026 edition marked the eleventh time that Real Club de Golf El Prat has hosted an official DP World Tour event.
Throughout its history, the Club has been the venue for some of the most prestigious tournaments held in Spain and has played an important role in the development of professional golf for decades.
The return of the European circuit to El Prat represented far more than a tournament. It was an opportunity to once again showcase to the world a club with more than a century of history, recognised for its sporting, organisational and social excellence.

A Week That Went Beyond Golf
For four days, Real Club de Golf El Prat became the meeting point of European golf.
Players, sponsors, institutions, media representatives, volunteers and fans shared a week that positioned the Club at the centre of the sport on both a national and international level.
The championship welcomed more than 21,000 spectators and reached a global audience of millions through television broadcasts, digital platforms and social media, extending the Club’s visibility far beyond its fairways.
Beyond the competition itself, the tournament Village, hospitality areas, brand activations and gastronomic experiences helped create an event that brought professional golf closer to new audiences while reinforcing Catalonia’s position as a leading golf destination.

A Historic Moment for Golf in Catalonia
The Beginning of the Road to Ryder Cup 2031
The Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship was much more than another Race to Dubai event.
The 2026 edition officially launched the Road to Ryder Cup 2031, the programme of major international events that will lead Catalonia towards the Ryder Cup at Camiral.
As host venue of this opening chapter, Real Club de Golf El Prat became part of a landmark moment in the history of Spanish and European golf.
Seve, Always Present
A Tribute to a Legend
The Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship coincided with the 15th anniversary of the passing of Seve Ballesteros, one of the most influential figures in the history of the game.
Throughout the week, players, fans and organisers paid tribute to his legacy through a series of commemorative initiatives that highlighted the profound impact he had on the development and popularisation of golf in Spain and across Europe.
His competitive spirit, his ability to inspire generations and his vision of the game remained present throughout a tournament that embodied many of the values he always stood for: passion, excellence and ambition.
