Real Club de Golf El Prat appoints Pablo Vilasanjuan to lead a new era in sponsorship and tournaments

Real Club de Golf El Prat continues to shape its future project with the appointment of Pablo Vilasanjuan Milá as the Club’s new Director of Sponsorship and Tournaments.
Vilasanjuan’s arrival is far more than a structural addition to the organisation; it represents a clear statement of intent: to consolidate a new phase in the Club’s relationship with brands, the territory and the world of golf.
After years linked to FC Barcelona and having been part of one of the most powerful sports communication and content ecosystems in the world, Vilasanjuan joins El Prat with the aim of driving the Club’s commercial area forward and strengthening its positioning at a particularly significant moment for golf.
A historic club with ambitious vision
The appointment comes just weeks after the celebration of the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship, a DP World Tour event that placed the Club at the centre of European golf for several days and marked a turning point in terms of exposure, visibility and international projection.
“I’m joining the Club at a very exciting moment,” explains Vilasanjuan. “There is an incredibly solid foundation, a very clear identity and, above all, huge potential to continue growing and creating new opportunities around the project.”
The new director believes the challenge lies in evolving while preserving the essence that has made Real Club de Golf El Prat one of the most historic and respected institutions in Spanish golf.
“What attracted me most was precisely that balance between tradition and ambition. The Club has an extraordinary history and a very strong positioning, but at the same time there is a genuine desire to keep evolving, open new paths and develop increasingly attractive projects for partners and sponsors.”
Beyond visibility
One of the main objectives of this new phase will be to strengthen the Club’s commercial strategy and evolve the concept of sponsorship towards more integrated and experience-driven models.
The aim is to build long-term alliances with brands that share common values and vision, developing proposals that go far beyond traditional advertising presence.
“Today, brands are looking for much more than visibility,” says Vilasanjuan. “They are looking for context, experiences, community, authenticity and projects they can genuinely connect with. And I believe golf has an enormous capacity to offer all of that.”
In this sense, the Club aims to continue strengthening its ecosystem of partners while opening new opportunities linked to hospitality, events, content creation and brand activations within an increasingly strategic environment for the premium industry.
A cross-disciplinary vision of sport
Although much of his professional career has been linked to football, Vilasanjuan believes many of the current dynamics within the sports industry are shared and perfectly transferable to the world of golf.
“I come from a very demanding and constantly evolving environment like FC Barcelona, where sport is also understood through innovation, entertainment and brand building. Football and golf are obviously different worlds, but that’s exactly where very interesting opportunities arise to bring fresh ideas and identify new trends.”
With this appointment, Real Club de Golf El Prat reaffirms its commitment to continuing its growth through a modern, strategic vision connected to the evolving landscape of sport and brands, while preserving the essence and legacy that have defined the Club for more than a century.
